RECOMMENDED RIDING GEAR?Boots - Adventure motorcycle boots are strongly recommended for our tours. Pants - Pants are always better with knee armour. Kevlar jeans are fine for most tours. During summer tours leathers are going to get quite hot! Thermal underwear may be needed if you are doing tours in October. Jacket - A quality riding jacket is strongly recommened. Helmets - All riders must wear a helmet. We have a variety of helmets but sizes are limited. If you have specific requirements please bring your own. Gloves - Gloves are a must. We may have a few pairs available but we recommend bringing your own as they are a small item and can easily fit in your kit. Luggage - On all tours (with more than 5 riders), a support vehicle is provided to carry your luggage. There is not a lot of room so please pack light. Any items that are needed during the day's ride should be kept on your person. Medical Kit - We carry a basic medical kit and our lead rider is trained in First Aid. Riders should always bring any personal medication.

WHAT'S GOING ON IN THE EVENING?After a long day's ride, most riders are going to hop in the shower, freshen up, and then enjoy a beer or three. It's a laid back atmosphere. You will only need a comfortable change of clothes. At some locations there are natural hot-springs or rivers for swimming so throw in a pair of swim trunks. Wifi - Every hotel will typically have WiFi. Sim cards and data packages are also super affordable in Georgia. We recommend picking up a Magti sim card at Tbilisi airport for the best coverage even in remote areas.

BRIEFING & ORIENTATION SESSIONSThe briefing session kicks off the evening before the tour at the Onwards HQ located in Tbilisi. The briefing session is factored into the tour dates. Therefore if your tour runs from May 10 - 16 for example, the briefing session is on May 10, at 5pm. Accommodation is also included on the night of the briefing session. The briefing session gives you a chance the meet the crew and your fellow riders. We meet a short walk from your hotel, enjoy a beer, and get pumped up for the upcoming ride. Patrick conducts the sessions, and over some snacks (usually pizza!) he will go through the tour details and explain how it all works. It's a time to ask any questions you may still have, but more importantly it's a time to break the ice and get to know everyone. By about 7:00pm the session is over, giving you a chance to head out for dinner and explore Tbilisi before the tour starts the following day.

LICENSES & INSURANCE?DRIVING LICENSE An International Driving Permit (IDP) with motorcycle accreditation is required to legally ride a motorcycle in Georgia. These can be purchased for between $10-30 in your home country before departing. INSURANCE Travel insurance is mandatory and we will ask for the details of your policy before riding. Travel insurance, much like any other type of insurance, covers an agreed-upon set of circumstances as set forth in the insurance contract. It is never a bad idea to protect a carefully-planned trip with coverage for delays, illness, lost luggage, and even natural disasters—the best travel insurance can soften the impact of unforeseen events. The bike capacity is typically 650cc, so please also ensure you are you are covered to ride this sized bike in your home country.
-
WHAT'S THE RIDING STYLE?We ride in convoy, with a safe amount of space between bikes. The lead rider heads the group and the mechanic rides at the rear to assist with any mechanical issues. The support vehicle then follows the pack carrying tools, spares, and your luggage. The support vehicle is normally about 30mins behind the rest of the convoy.

WHAT ABOUT ACCIDENTS?Accidents are rare and we have not had a serious incident to date. In the event of an incident, treatment will depend on the injury. Our staff are first aid trained and we always carry a medical kit with us so treatment on location may suffice. We also have an excellent understanding of the hospitals located enroute. In the event of a serious injury, we will call for an emergency evacuation, which will take you to a western medical clinic in Tbilisi.
